Your JourneyDay 1 Arrive Alba. Day 2 Alba – Grinzane - Barolo (13 km - 3.5 hours) Transfer to the castle of Grinzane to begin a walk that leads through Gallo d’Alba and into the middle of the vineyards of La Morra until you’ll reach the town of Barolo with its splendid castle. Day 3 Barolo - Novello - Monforte (9 km - 3 hours) Walk almost entirely among the finest vineyards of Nebbiolo grapes to reach Novello with its imposing castle. Continue to the village of Monforte where the main square is always buzzing with tourists and local people. Day 4 Monforte – Cissone (16 km - 4.5 hours) Walk through rows of neat vines to the wine villages of Serrallunga, Sinio, Roddino and then Cissone. The first hazelnut trees will appear at the beginning of the Alta (high) Langhe. Day 5 Cissone. Rest day. Optional short circular route around the hills of this pretty village. Day 6 Cissone - Cravanzana (17 km - 6 hours) The Alta Langa is famous for its hazelnuts, the main ingredient of well known Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Cross the deep valley of the Belbo, after a stop at the beautiful church of Cerretto Langhe, to reach Cravanzana. Day 7 Cravanzana - Cortemilia (12 km - 4 hours) From Cravanzana it’s a pleasant descent to Torre Bormida before beginning a steep climb to Bergolo, one of the smallest and characteristic municipalities of Alta Langhe. Walk through forests to Cortemilia, an ancient village dating back to the Roman times. Day 8 Cortemilia Arrangements end after breakfast. Add on some extra days in Torino. TerrainEasy to moderate.
