Your Journey

Days 1-3

Arrive El Chalten, Argentina’s trekking capital. Early evening a local expert guide will meet you at the hotel to give you the best El Chalten insights and help you choose the perfect trails for the next days. Trek to Mont Fitz Roy enjoying dazzling lakes and mountain views. Walk on top of the mighty Viedma, Argentina’s largest glacier.

Days 4-5: El Chalten – El Calafete

Enjoy a full day tour of the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the earth’s most dynamic and accessible ice fields. See stunning views of Perito Moreno’s 200-foot-(60-meter)-high, blue-tinged walls from the nearby walking trail and viewing platforms.

Days 6-9: El Calafete – Torres Del Paine

Cross the border from Argentina to Chile. Discover Torres Del Paine, South America’s finest national park. You have the opportunity to take guided walks of the park’s three best hikes: Greys Glacier; French Valley hike; and Los Torres hike.

Days 10-11: Torres Del Paine – Punta Arenas

Visit Punta Arenas before we travel by boat to Magdalena Island to explore and witness the more than 150,000 Magellan penguins. Spot sea lions and other marine fauna on Marta Island.

Days 12-15: Punta Arenas - Ushaia

Cross the Strait of Magellan to the island of Tierra del Fuego and see some of the lesser-known parts of Chile as you travel to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Get up close to nature on a boat excursion along the Beagle Channel and trek and canoe in Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Add on a side trip to Buenos Aires and the incredible Iguazu Falls! Or combine this tour with a once in a lifetime expedition cruise in Antarctica or the Southern Patagonian Fiords!

Terrain

Moderate to Energetic (options available for shorter easier walks). Walks are between 4 – 9 hours on 5 days. Full explanations are outlined in our trip notes. Please call/email for a copy.
