Venice is a city of 117 islands and 400 bridges interwoven by a network of canals and scattered with impressive palaces, rambling cobbled lanes and pretty piazzas. “The world’s most beautiful city” is best explored on foot and by boat. The incomparable Piazza San Marco, one of the world’s greatest monuments, is the central point to begin an exploration of the city. Close by, the Doges Palace is a treasure trove of art and history and we offer a tour of ‘The secret trails of the Doge's Palace’ through the private rooms. An excursion to the colourful islands of the lagoon is a must. The island of Murano is known for its’ glass manufacturing industry; Burano with its brightly painted fisherman’s houses; and Torcello, the first point of civilisation in the area.
