Northern Italy’s Barolo Wine Country

Self-Guided Tour - 8 Days / 7 Nights

Discover the magnificent landscapes of the Langhe region of northern Italy. Your journey is divided between the rolling vineyards of the famous Barolo wine area and the wilder Alta Langhe where forests, deep valleys and hazelnut plantations are waiting to be explored.
Eleven wine villages are connected by footpaths that take you to hilltop castles and picturesque towns that tempt you to linger over a good glass of wine and a gourmet meal. End your walk experiencing the beautiful city of Torino with its wealth of museums, monuments and cafes of the ‘belle epoque’ style. A Torino Card will enable you to enjoy all it has to offer.

Turin’s cafe society is legendary and one of the first in Italy. It is a testament to the numerous ornate ‘belle époque’ style cafes, gleaming with gilt and sparkling crystals, that are the core of the city’s huge cafe culture. As well as these gracious, elegant establishments there are chic modern cafes and restaurants amidst the miles of grand arcaded shops that line the streets.

The city has numerous museums, the most notable being the Egyptian museum which grew from a private collection to the second largest exhibition of Egyptology outside of Cairo.

The Museum of Cinema is a fascinating display of movies through the ages. It is housed in the city’s landmark dome, the Mole Antonellana, which has a high speed elevator that soars through the centre to the top for a wonderful panorama of the city. The Museum of Cinema spirals cleverly up around the outer wall of the dome so you stay in a continuous progression through the exhibits.
